Position Summary:
The Department of Mathematics at Yeshiva University's undergraduate Colleges of Arts and Sciences seeks an outstanding scholar-teacher to join its faculty as a full-time Instructor specializing in statistics. The position will teach three courses per semester in the undergraduate programs at Yeshiva College and/or Stern College for Women. In addition, the position will review the curriculum in Statistics, coordinating sections, and making recommendations for curricular revision and innovation. Based within a liberal arts and sciences environment in an institution shaped by Jewish values and tradition, the Instructor will join a collaborative team with faculty in the natural, social, and behavioral sciences as well as mathematics.
The position will commence in Fall 2026, and the initial term of appointment is one academic year.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality teaching in statistics and/or probability, primarily at the undergraduate level, with possible teaching at the graduate level in the Mathematics PhD program in the Katz School of Science and Health
- Coordinate multiple sections of statistics courses ranging from introductory to advanced levels
- Review the statistics curriculum and make recommendations for revision and innovation
- Participate in the mentorship of students as well as faculty governance
Experience & Educational Background:
- A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field is required by the time of appointment
- Prior teaching experience as an instructor of statistics is required
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop a curriculum and to advise and mentor students
Skills & Competencies:
- The successful applicant is expected to have a strong background in probability and statistics and related areas, along with proficiency in statistical and computational software
- Candidates with expertise in biostatistics and financial statistics are particularly encouraged to apply
- Applied experience in statistical analysis in research, industry, or professional settings is strongly preferred

Salary Range:
