Job Summary
The MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for a full-time Instructor or Assistant Professor faculty position in the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) program within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). Applicants with a track record of excellence in pediatric and adult clinical work, clinical supervision, teaching and scholarship are encouraged to apply.
This is a 12-month appointment beginning on September 1, 2026.
This faculty position will supervise graduate students as they gain clinical experience working with clients in the Julie Atwood Speech, Language and Literacy Center (SLLC) in the IMPACT Practice Center during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The faculty member will provide mentorship and direct education in clinical assessment and intervention techniques primarily with pediatric clients but also with adults in the Marjorie Nicholas Aphasia Center. Supervision in community programs in the Boston area is part of this position. The faculty member will also participate in scholarship and service to the institution and the community.
The MS-SLP program is part of an interprofessional team of highly ranked programs in the CSD department and the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. These include CSD programs in Audiology, SLPD and Language and Literacy and programs in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Genetic Counseling, as well as the research program in Rehabilitation Sciences (PhD).
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Masters in Speech-Language Pathology. Must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence and eligibility for relevant state licensure.
Desirable Qualifications:
- SLPD or master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
- ASHA CCC-SLP and Massachusetts state SLP License
- Minimum of two years of experience in clinical supervision of graduate students in SLP
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience. Pediatric experience required, clinical generalist able to work with both pediatrics and adults preferred
- Strong commitment to interprofessional education in the health professions
- Strong commitment to health equity and systems-based practice and change
- Experience in community settings and demonstrated interest in collaborating with community partners for student clinical experiences.

The IHP is committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation that reflects each faculty member’s experience, expertise, responsibilities, and performance. The expected base salary range for this position is $96,000 to $109,000, based on faculty rank (Instructor or Assistant Professor), qualifications, and discipline. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors such as academic and clinical experience, teaching responsibilities, education, licensure, specialty, training, market, and internal equity. This range represents base salary only and does not include benefits or other elements of total compensation; details about the full compensation and benefits package will be shared during the recruitment process.
