Job Description
This position is located ONSITE in Dallas, TX. Strong preference for candidates in DeSoto, Lancaster, Cedar Hill, or Mansfield.
Job Profile Summary:
Prelicensure Clinical Instructors (Hourly) are subject matter experts who teach and mentor students in experiential clinical coursework in a remote/onsite environment. This role varies in type, length, and intensity based on student and facility needs. Instructors work on a team to support assigned students, offering specialized instruction on challenging clinical coursework. They interact with students in group and one-on-one settings, ensuring success within clinical placements.
Compensation Expectations:
This role is paid hourly and bi-weekly. Employees must enter hours worked accurately and timely.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Act as a steward for WGU's mission and strategic vision.

- Provide expertise in assigned content area and maintain current knowledge.
- Participate in program philosophy and goals implementation.

- Make appropriate student referrals using WGU policies.
- Communicate with student's assigned coach/preceptor on progress and concerns.
- Provide final review and approval for student's clinical time.
- Offer proactive support and outreach to students.
- Use technology-based platforms for competency development.
- Submit electronic clinical student evaluation forms.
- Collaborate with professionals to promote a positive atmosphere.
- Respond to changing requirements and priorities.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant state regulations.
- Conduct in-person and remote student evaluations.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in nursing; two years minimum nursing experience; work history showing advancement and success; unencumbered RN license; active license in designated state; compliance with state and accreditation requirements.
Preferred Requirements: Doctorate or terminal degree; experience with distance education; prior clinical teaching experience.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; must lift up to 15 pounds; specific requirements like travel and environment.
Position Details:
Part-time intermittent position (less than 30 hours/week), potentially eligible for certain benefits.
