The LSE Shaping the World strategy defines our priorities on academic excellence, diversity, and outstanding student experience. LSE is focused on enhancing its administrative efficiency through the Operations Excellence Programme. The OEP is redesigning our processes to enhance service quality for students and work experience for staff. In this context of transformation, LSE is looking to appoint a new Director of Recruitment and Admissions (DoRA) for a fixed term until 30 September 2026

This is a senior role in the Academic Registrar’s Division (ARD) with three key responsibilities:

  • To oversee standard operating procedures focused on hitting 2026-27 student enrolment targets.
  • To support the Academic Registrar in repositioning the Recruitment and Admissions teams into a new standalone division.
  • To guide and support the Head of Admissions in implementing recommendations from a completed review of Admissions.

The successful candidate will have:

  • excellent communication skills and experience of leading change.
  • experience of leading on the strategic development of systems and admissions processes to enhance the customer experience and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • experience of developing, leading and implementing a student recruitment strategy at an institutional level.
  • knowledge of Access and Participation Plans and experience of delivering widening access of targets.

As the central senior manager, you will be responsible for pre-arrival services and the applicant experience, and lead and contribute to the relevant ‘Education and Student Experience’(ESE) strategic initiatives. The successful candidate would preferably be available to start immediately
