Interior Design Lecturer (Part-Time)
Position Summary
A part-time fixed term lecturer position beginning August 2024. This is a one-year appointment. Teaching area will be determined by applicants area of expertise but focus primarily on studios and classes with digital components.
NOTE: The Central Michigan Universitys Interior Design program is also seeking a full-time, fixed-term faculty member to join our program. If you are interested in being considered for that position as well, please apply online to full-time position listed on CMUs career website.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Interior Design or three years of industry experience.
- Ability to teach lower-level design studios, strong manual and visual communication skills.
- Competent user of industry software.
- Ability to provide face-to-face instruction.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job, with or without accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Interior Design or closely related field.
- Ability to teach upper-division interior design undergraduate courses.
- Fluency in industry software including Revit.
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud software for digital visualizations and presentation.

The Department of Fashion, Interior Design, & Fashion offers a bachelors degree in Interior Design. The program serves approximately 120 majors and minors with well equipped classrooms, studio space, and CAD lab.
