Description:
Dartmouth College is soliciting applications for its International Economics and Global Security Postdoctoral Fellows program for academic year 2026/27. We welcome applications from economists whose research bears directly on economic policy as it relates to international trade, immigration, and economic development. The requirement for acceptance of the position is that the candidate has accepted a tenure-track assistant professorship and can put off their start date for a year to be spent at Dartmouth.
Applications will be evaluated on the basis of (i) significance of the applicant's research for advancing knowledge about economic policy as it relates to international trade, immigration, and economic development; (ii) ability of the applicant to benefit from interaction with and mentoring from Dartmouth faculty in Economics or other relevant departments; and (iii) ability of the applicant to contribute to Dartmouth's community.
The position pays a competitive academic-year salary, and provides an office, a small amount of research support and moving costs. The fellows are expected to be in residence at Dartmouth for the academic year and participate in research-related activities (seminars/lunches etc.) of the Economics Department and Tuck School of Business and to interact with the broader community at Dartmouth. The fellows will also interact with postdoctoral fellows that are part of the E. John Rosenwald, Jr. '52 TU'53 Fellows Program in U.S. Foreign Policy and International Security.
Dartmouth is committed to academic excellence and encourages the open exchange of ideas within a culture of mutual respect. Dartmouth welcomes people with different backgrounds, life experiences, and perspectives and believes that diversity in all its forms enhances academic excellence. Applicants should address in their cover letter how their research, teaching, service, and/or life experiences prepare them to serve Dartmouth's commitment to academic excellence in an environment that is welcoming to all.
