Interventional Consultative Cardiologist, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Internal Medicine, Cardiology
The Heart Institute at Stony Brook Medicine is seeking an outstanding interventional and consultative cardiologist to help expand and shape cardiovascular services on the East End of Long Island. This is a unique opportunity where leadership in patient care, program development, and access to advanced services will have a direct and lasting impact on the community. The successful applicant would:
- Play a leading role in the growth of a thriving general cardiology practice and interventional service in a region with expanding demand and rapid population growth.
- Provide independent STEMI call coverage at a full-service community hospital, supported by a dedicated cath lab team.
- Enjoy a balance of outpatient and inpatient cardiology clinical care responsibilities with opportunities to interpret echocardiograms, perform TEEs, and read cardiac imaging.
- Live and work in one of the most beautiful coastal communities in the Northeast, with quick access to beaches, vineyards, and waterfront living.
Stony Brook Southampton Hospital (SBSH) is a vital part of the Stony Brook Medicine system, serving the East End of Long Island with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding, community-focused care anchored in the academic excellence of a world-class medical center.
Candidates should:
- Be board-certified/eligible in cardiovascular disease and Interventional Cardiology.
- Have at least 1–2 years of post-fellowship experience in independent PCI/STEMI call coverage.
- Be comfortable managing a high-volume general cardiology practice, including outpatient visits and noninvasive diagnostics.
- Collaborate within a highly collegial, team-based environment where communication and shared decision-making are valued.
- Desire to live on or near the South Fork or North Fork of Long Island to ensure close proximity (~20–30 minutes) to support timely STEMI call coverage.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MD, DO or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent). Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Board certified/eligible in both Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. Excellence in clinical care and teaching in cardiology (inpatient and outpatient). U.S. work authorization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Level II training in echocardiography or advanced imaging, including nuclear training.
Special Notes: Tenure/Non-Tenure Track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
