Inventory & Distribution Coordinator (Genetic Medicine)

We are seeking an Inventory & Distribution Coordinator who will follow established protocols to ensure that all receiving, delivery and shipments for the Johns Hopkins community are processed and completed accurately daily. Ensures all customers receive the correct items in a timely fashion.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of inventory and distribution.
- Train new delivery staff and students. Set student assignments and monitor progress and deficiencies.
- Open delivery areas at the start of workday.
- Unpack deliveries from suppliers.
- Ensure deliveries are covered and completed accurately and timely.
- Monitor the alarm system and respond to freezer alarms.
- Deliver inventory products to individual research labs.
- Coordinate delivery routes by building and campus and operate delivery vehicle to deliver inventory to various campuses.
- Defrost freezers and maintain equipment.
- Generate and organize the quarterly inventory report.
- Maintain the stability and integrity of inventory items.
- Process all orders within the database to create daily invoices for delivery.
- Responsible for weekly reporting and removal of chemical waste and drop off.
- Responsible for inventory and space management for over 700 stocked items and hundreds of special-order chemicals.
- Establish and upgrade delivery protocols for all delivery routes and staff and ensure adherence to established protocols.
- Communicate directly with Biotech companies to monitor outstanding orders.
- Adapt to changes in protocol as inventory and distribution needs arise.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
- One year of related retail or customer service experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

- Chemical Waste Management (obtained after employment)

Starting Salary Range: $16.20 - $28.80 HRLY ($42,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

Schedule: M-F, 8:30 to 5pm
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
