The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences (HaSS) are looking to recruit a full-time IT Senior Technician to work within the local IT team and provide specialist PC and Apple support to academic staff and postgraduate students.

Based in our Faculty IT Office in Glasgow and working around the campus, you will be providing support on a wide range of day-to-day IT matters, primarily focused upon second- and third-line technical support across Windows and macOS platforms. You will contribute specialist knowledge to complex incidents and support the effective operation of Faculty computing facilities.

This role provides expertise across Windows11 and macOS environments, acting as a key technical escalation point and mentor within the team. You will support staff systems, teaching laboratories and AV facilities, maintain standard desktop images, contribute to service improvement, and work closely with central Professional Services to ensure reliable, efficient IT delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong IT skills, broad desktop support expertise, a solid understanding of basic Active Directory administration and OS imaging technologies. A proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving is fundamental. You will have excellent communication and customer-facing skills, working closely with Faculty staff to ensure IT services and solutions are properly supported across administrative, teaching and research activity.

The successful applicant will become part of a highly regarded specialist team, recognised for outstanding customer service and for supporting Faculty IT systems and technology adoption.
