"Japanese Language Lecturer - Spring Semester 2026"

The Department of East Asian Studies invites applications for a spring semester full time Japanese language lecturer position. The position is expected to begin January 16, 2026. Responsibilities include classroom teaching, grading assignments, and attending student activities. While we expect to fill one full-time position, final duty time will be based on student enrollments. We seek candidates with a minimum requirement of a Master's degree in such disciplines as Linguistics, Japanese pedagogy, TESOL or equivalent; native or near-native fluency in Japanese; experience teaching Japanese to English-speaking students at the college level; and excellent command of English. Reference letters will be requested after a Zoom interview. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University.

Expected Salary Range: Lecturer without a Ph.D.: $81,700 Lecturer with a Ph.D.: $86,000

The posted salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
