Junior Team Leader Position: Viral Immunology Research at CardioVir UMR-S 1320 (INSERM/URCA)
The UMR-S 1320 focuses on viral cardiovascular infections and inflammatory responses in human pathology. Our research bridges basic and clinical science, fostering collaboration between scientists and clinicians in infectious disease research.
The CardioVir Laboratory, established in 2012, is affiliated with the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA). Our unit is strategically located 250 meters from the Reims University Hospital Center (UHC), facilitating strong clinical ties.
We are seeking a talented and motivated junior team leader to develop an innovative research project in the field of virology and immunology. The project proposed for this position aims to identify the mechanisms that activate the innate antiviral immune response and the strategies used by single-stranded RNA viruses to evade these mechanisms. Ideal candidates should possess the qualifications to compete for national and international research grants. Researchers without a permanent position in France will be encouraged to apply for funding through programs like the FRM, ERC and/or ATIP/Avenir, or for research/teaching positions at French institutions (INSERM, URCA).
The selected group leader will receive an initial support package (financial and materials) including office space and laboratory. The group will also have access to cutting-edge core facilities including imaging (PICT), animal facility (conventional and A2 laboratory), human cell cultures (iPS cell technologies), flow cytometry, BSL2 and BSL3 laboratories, Next generation sequencing (NGS) (Ion Gene Studio S5 System with the Ion Chef System for an automated NGS workflow).
