The Lab Manager will be responsible for executing day-to-day lab operations, including, but not limited to: ordering study materials, maintaining the lab space, technology, and online presence, and processing lab-related and travel expenses. This position will also coordinate logistics of ongoing research projects (e.g., drafting IRB applications and pre-registrations; leading targeted study recruitment efforts; handling participant remuneration; facilitating lab studies end-to-end). Additional duties include managing a team of undergraduate research assistants, including, but not limited to: recruiting team members, training research assistants to enact study protocols, and leading weekly team meetings.

This is a one-year term limited position with the possibility of extension based upon need and available funding.

Physical Demands: The Lab Manager will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized lab space.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in one of the major sciences. In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted. 1+ year of experience in research work. Preferences: Master’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Public Health, or a related field. Experience presenting research findings at regional and national conferences. Experience preparing and submitting manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals. Experience mentoring and supervising undergraduate research assistants.

Essential Functions: Coordinates the day-to-day technical operations in the lab. Coordinates all aspects of the processes. Procures research materials and supplies for the laboratory. Ensures and promotes lab safety and routine laboratory hygiene. Maintains laboratory apparatus and equipment. Supervises research technicians and students in the lab. Trains students regarding research techniques. Performs all other duties as assigned.
