"Laboratory Assistant I/Glasswasher - Surgery"

Position Summary

This position is responsible for autoclaving and washing glassware used by laboratories; files microscope slides and tissue blocks.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collects glassware from the laboratories, washing all glassware and/or plasticware in the washer. Some containers, spatulas and other small items have to be washed by hand.
• Returns clean glassware to the laboratories.
• Picks up and delivers Department mail from post office and distributes to employee’s mailboxes.
• Autoclaves bottles, cylinders, pipettes tips, etc.

Required Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Work around detergents.
