Lanier Watershed Analysis Student Assistant- Institutional Student Worker
Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Lanier Watershed Analysis Student Assistant- Institutional Student Worker. This project aims to quantitatively and scientifically evaluate the impacts of urbanization upon regional air quality, water quality, and land cover by collecting and integrating high resolution geospatial data. In addition to spatiotemporal analysis of potential environmental impacts, this project also aims to evaluate the effect that development will have on transportation and population distribution within the region.
Responsibilities
- The student will utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing to examine the Lake Lanier watershed.
- The student will help produce a written report, professional presentation, and manuscript to disseminate scientific findings.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- In addition, this position requires strong written and oral communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
- The student should have extensive experience with ArcGIS Pro and remote sensing applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with geospatial scientific research and professional conference presentation is preferred.
