Department Summary: VCU Administrative Systems has an exciting opportunity for a growth and results-oriented individual interested in supporting our Ellucian Banner ERP. We invite detail-oriented individuals with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, knowledge of the Ellucian Banner ERP platform and a desire to contribute to the VCU mission to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Codes, tests, documents and debugs programs used in Banner, ODS, Degree Works, Navigate for students, CPoS(Course Program of Study), Handshake and/or related systems for administrative processing; troubleshoots and resolves production data and processing issues; uses the Automic/UC4 job scheduler to schedule processes and email job status notices; consults and coordinates with other technical staff; maintains the security and confidentiality of University data. Languages/platforms being used include the following: SQL (SQL PLUS, PL/SQL, SQL LOADER); Ellucian Ethos platform, Ellucian Experience, TOAD, UNIX Shell Scripting, Git/BitBucket repositories, Automic/UC4; object-oriented - Java, IntelliJ IDE, Pro C; HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, XML XSL. Supervise a team of Banner Applications Analysts. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent training and experience in a related area.
• Three years of experience in an information technology position.
• Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting and independent problem solving skills. Demonstrated skills in application development.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with various university constituents and work effectively with people at all levels.
• Customer satisfaction orientation, enjoy working with technical and non-technical staff and customers.
• Demonstrated ability to perform systems analysis to define and develop solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Database programming experience or analytical programming experience.
• Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of experience in an information technology position.
• Experienced with Ellucian Banner ERP.
• Working knowledge of Oracle databases and TOAD(or equivalent).
• Demonstrated knowledge of the system development life cycle.
• Working knowledge of Linux OS.
• Familiarity with a project management methodology.
• Programming experience using SQL, PL/SQL(functions, procedures, packages).

Salary Range: $56,400 - $112,800
