Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
The lead exercise physiologist will play a important role in leading and growing the Cardiac Rehab Center. Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating exercise programs for patients in our Cardiac Rehab & Preventive Cardiology Programs. Incumbent assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Incumbent creates educational materials and sessions for patients in both programs. The incumbent provides day-to-day oversight, staff scheduling and implementation of the program. Acts as the clinical coordinator for the Preventive Cardiology Program; scheduling patients to have multi-provider/disciplinary visits with physicians, dieticians & exercise physiologists according to program guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to understand specific patient needs
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Experience submitting state and federal documents for accreditation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Able to work cooperatively with physicians and other medical specialists
- Ability to work with patients expressing a variety of emotions, and/or dealing with notable physical pain
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to attend to patients' health and fitness needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Exercise Physiology and ACSM certified or equivalent experience in a clinical setting
- Experience in an academic environment &/or military medical environment
- Experience in a healthcare environment
- 4+ years' experience in the field of exercise physiology
