Lead Mail Associate (Part Time)

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for receipt and delivery of mail, packages, and other materials for the college and its locations.

The typical hours for this position will be between Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Essential Functions:

  • Receive, sort, process, schedule, and deliver mail and packages to any on-or-off-campus locations and the post office.
  • Operate computerized mailing equipment.
  • Lead, train and supervise other part-time mail service associates
  • Assist with the unloading of trucks and route incoming freight and packages.
  • Forklift certified and the ability to operate pallet jacks and other related equipment.
  • Fill and deliver large orders (Print Shop, Bookstore, Custodial, Special Deliveries, Office Supplies, etc.)
  • Subject matter expert on deliveries, automated mailings, postal regulations, and shipping and receiving.
  • Operate snow removal equipment and shovels to remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots and walkways.
  • Work on-site during college breaks, Holidays and other critical times.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

Constant (67-100%) stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, and lifting 50 pounds. Frequent (34-66%) crouching, standing, pushing, pulling, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motion, viewing computer and/or close visual work of less than 18" of distance. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, climbing, balancing, and travel to campus locations. Ability to do heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to see color spectrum.

May be subject to extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour), extreme heat (temperatures above 90 degrees for periods of more than one hour), noise, and hazards such as moving mechanical parts and electric current.
