The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Lead Vocational Trainer and Assessor to guide the delivery of nationally recognised programs across the Workplace Skilling Directorate. In this role, you will help shape high‑quality vocational education that supports industry‑aligned capability building and strengthens the University’s workforce development impact.
You will work closely with the Director, Workplace Skilling, and internal partners to support the design and delivery of innovative, compliant, and engaging learning experiences across diverse modes and client contexts. With a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in maintaining excellence in training, assessment, and learner outcomes.
In this role you will be:
- Leading the delivery of vocational training and assessment across face‑to‑face, online, and blended learning environments.
- Ensuring compliance with RTO Standards, including maintaining accurate, audit‑ready documentation.
- Contextualising and adapting training and assessment materials to meet client, industry, and cohort needs.
- Facilitating high‑quality and engaging learning experiences that support learner success and industry relevance.
- Overseeing the end‑to‑end training delivery lifecycle, including planning, assessment, validation, and learner support.
- Monitoring quality and supporting continuous improvement in training and assessment practices.
- Coaching, mentoring, and coordinating a panel of trainers and assessors to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery.
- Partnering with Product and Business Development teams to support the creation and implementation of innovative training solutions.
- Engaging with clients and industry stakeholders to ensure programs remain current, responsive, and aligned with workforce needs.

This is a full-time, ongoing position.
About you
You will bring:
- A current TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and relevant vocational qualifications.
- Extensive vocational industry experience that aligns with the course(s) you will train and assess, in line with the College’s Scope of Registration.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering accredited and non‑accredited programs to diverse learner cohorts.
- Strong capability in course development, training solution design, continuous improvement, and project coordination.
- Proven experience coaching, mentoring, and guiding trainers and assessors within a vocational or B2B learning environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SRTO 2025 requirements and the ability to uphold compliance within training and assessment practice.
- Experience participating in quality assurance processes, including assessment validation, audit preparation, and continuous improvement activity.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
The Location
This position will be based at Western’s Parramatta City Campus, although travel to other campuses will be required. This position is not available in a fully remote format.
Remuneration Package: $130,169 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
