About the Role

The Clinical Trials Project Manager, located at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, is tasked with overseeing the entire lifecycle of various clinical trials. This includes detailed planning, implementing, and concluding stages, alongside budget management and regulatory compliance, such as obtaining ethics approvals.

Primarily focusing on human infection challenge (HIC) studies related to infectious diseases, this role requires effective communication, stringent organization, and the ability to meet critical deadlines.

The Project Manager must collaborate extensively with diverse stakeholders across local, national, and international levels, ensuring that all aspects of the clinical trials are executed flawlessly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end management of clinical trials, providing operational leadership and project support including budgeting, contract management, and monitoring of trial progress.
  • Assist in managing ethics review, regulatory compliance, and site governance approvals, while supporting clinical trial staff and communicating strategies and updates to external partners and senior leaders.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to enhance project activities across various stakeholders, manage detailed record keeping and compliance reporting, and uphold Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety responsibilities.

Who We Are Looking For

You will possess a postgraduate qualification in Biomedical Science or a relevant discipline, demonstrating exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage complex clinical trials with precision.

Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to effectively liaise with and influence diverse stakeholders across multiple sectors, ensuring collaborative and best practice solutions.

You will work independently with significant autonomy, showing initiative and flexibility in a multidisciplinary environment.

You will also have:

  • Post graduate qualification in Biomedical Science or other relevant discipline; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop clear project plans and timelines.
  • Familiarity with GCP and GMP regulatory requirements.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
