  • Term: Ongoing, part-time basis (21.75 hours per week)
  • Remuneration: $122,852 to $134,385 pa (HEW7) (inclusive of $103,811 to $113,557 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Both Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join Student Services, People Services, Administrative Division.

The Registered Nurse provides a high-quality clinical nursing service to both the University community and the general public, consistent with the service’s practice standards, the legislative framework affecting nursing practice and best practice through ongoing professional development.

Student Services is responsible for providing a range of services to support the health and wellbeing of students in areas of accommodation, chaplaincy, counselling, accessibility and disability support, international student support, welfare services and QUT Medical Centres.

What you need to succeed

  1. Current registration with APHRA as a Registered Nurse, combined with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the General Practice setting.
  2. Nurse Immuniser Accreditation.
  3. Demonstrated ability to make independent clinical decisions whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Proven intercultural competency and a good understanding of issues facing adolescents, young adults and students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. 
  5. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. 
  6. Demonstrated administrative and digital literacy skills including maintaining records and using Microsoft Office suite.
  7. Demonstrated ability in using Best Practice Medical or the ability to rapidly acquire these skills.
  8. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of health promotion and health education activities, particularly related to contemporary youth health issues.
