The Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages is a vibrant department, devoted to the study of language and mind, with strengths in theoretical linguistics, language acquisition, bilingualism, sign linguistics, and neurolinguistics. It is inviting applications for a lecture in linguistics.
Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Linguistics, specializing in Chinese Phonetics and Phonology, and (ii) experience in teaching relevant courses at the university level.
The appointees will (a) teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses; (b) supervise research projects of undergraduate and MA students; (c) conduct seminars and talks; (d) assist in organizing departmental academic activities; and (e) perform research and administrative duties as assigned by supervisors.
Appointments will initially be made on a contract basis for up to two years commencing January 2027, renewable subject to performance, funding, and mutual agreement.
