Lecturers at the University of Kansas (KU) are untenured, non-tenure-track members of the faculty with limited term appointments, whose primary role is instructional. The AEC Lecturer is responsible for teaching courses in the Applied English Center on the Lawrence campus and for the Joint Institute at Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU) in Jinhua, China, or other location in the fall and spring semesters.
