The College of Arts & Media, Department of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies is currently seeking applications for multiple lecturers in the areas of Voice, singer-songwriter voice, percussion/drums, piano, theory, ear-training, music business, and recording arts. Candidates hired from this pool will fill temporary, non-tenure track positions and will teach no more than two courses per semester. Appointments will be part-time (less than 50%) and will be made semester-by-semester, depending on the needs of the department. Therefore, this posting does not necessarily reflect a current open position.
Lecturers in the department must conduct college-level courses in music & performance related fields. Lecturers are responsible for the preparation and scheduling of weekly applied lessons, and to prepare students for performance juries and recitals.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is set at $5,150 (for a standard 3-credit course).
The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
-Master’s degree in related music or music performance field.
-Significant professional industry experience may substitute for the degree.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Requirements
-Experience teaching in a higher education environment. Experience in online education preferable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Candidates should have knowledge in one of the four degree areas of the department (music business, recording arts, singer/songwriter and performance) with an area of specialization within these disciplines. Candidates should also have a successful record of teaching at the undergraduate level, with positive student evaluations. The ideal candidate will also have close connections with organizations within their field and can bring these connections into the classroom setting and develop long-term experiential opportunities for students.
