Lecturer (EF) Rural - Port Macquarie
- Employment Type: Part–time 3.5 hours per week (0.1 FTE)
- Duration: Fixed Term contract until 30th June 2027
- Remuneration: $127,947 per annum, pro-rata, plus 17% superannuation clinical and leave loading

Details of the role
UNSW’s Education Focussed (EF) roles enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. The role of Lecturer, Rural (EF) will be committed to high-quality teaching with a strong focus on local rural medical education with a focus on the discipline of surgery.
Some key skills required:
- A BMedMD or MBBS, and currency of medical registration in New South Wales.
- Demonstrated experience in a particular field of medicine and a commitment to high quality rurally focussed teaching, including multi-disciplinary and inter-professional learning activities.
- Proven record of achievement demonstrating excellence in teaching and supervision at undergraduate level with a proven commitment to rural health education.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a record of solid achievement contributing to administration in academic and/or professional environments.
- Demonstrated experience in large and small group teaching within relevant discipline, and ability to apply knowledge and modern medical curricula and teaching methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising and coordinating student assessment and examinations including using educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Demonstrated successful interaction and involvement with relevant authorities, professional organisations, research and training institutes and health networks.
- High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff, including in a team environment.
