Lecturer Human Development and Family Science
Job Summary
Reporting to the School of Human Ecology Chair, the Lecturer of Human Development and Family Science position requires undergraduate teaching and providing service to the School, College, and University, as well as engaging in student success initiatives and professional development. The position is an academic (10 month) non-tenure track appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Development and Family Science or closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Human Development and Family Science by August 1, 2026.
- Evidence of, or potential, for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Qualifications to teach an array of Human Development and Family Science topics with a particular interest in teaching the program's lifespan development course.
- Strong commitment to student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
- Technology literacy and a commitment to integrate technology into teaching.
- Commitment to active participation in departmental service, curriculum development, and program initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Human Development and Family Science or closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Human Development and Family Science.
- Prior college-level teaching experience with evidence of effective and student-centered instructional practices.
- Experience with the development and delivery of academic courses in both online and traditional modalities.
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
