Description

The Department of Chemistry at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga invites applications for two non-tenure-track Lecturer positions in Chemistry, one beginning January 1, 2026 and another beginning August 1, 2026.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a graduate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field by the start date. Teaching experience is advantageous. Teaching responsibilities will include general chemistry lecture and lab, nursing chemistry lecture and lab, and other areas, depending upon the successful candidate’s specialization. Candidates should also be willing to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction, and in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC’s Strategic Plan. The Department of Chemistry at UTC comprises 18 full-time faculty members and is approved by the American Chemical Society. The department has approximately 140 chemistry and biochemistry majors and is noted for excellence in undergraduate education and research, including a ten-week summer research program (see https://www.utc.edu/chemistry/).

The application must include: 1) a letter of interest; 2) current curriculum vitae (at the last page, please include names, titles, and email addresses for three professional references for confidential letters of recommendation to be requested); 3) undergraduate transcript and graduate transcripts; 4) statement of teaching philosophy (up to three pages).
