Lecturer in Filmmaking and Creative Technologies (Post Production)

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) is a leading centre of excellence for creative learning and vocational training in the performing arts and creative industries.

This full-time, permanent position involves teaching and leading modules in filmmaking and creative technologies at all levels (4-7), including production skills in camera, lighting, production audio, and audio and video post-production, both on location and in studio.

Key responsibilities include contributing to the design of new modules, developing programs in filmmaking and creative technologies, supporting students academically and pastorally, and carrying out administrative duties such as project supervision.

Required skills:

• Post-production competencies (DAW and NLE)
• NLE editing experience (Premiere/Resolve)
• Post-production competencies in compositing, rotoscoping, and colour correction (After Effects/Fusion/Resolve/Nuke)
• 3D Modelling and animation
• Game Engines for Motion Capture and VR/XR (Unreal Engine/Unity)
• Camera, Lighting, and Cinematography experience (desirable)
• Multi Camera and Single Camera experience (desirable)
• Audio Recording/Mixing and Audio Post-Production (desirable)

A good first degree in a relevant discipline is essential, with professional or higher-level qualifications desirable. Experience in teaching and module leadership in Higher Education, as well as research competencies, is required.
