Lecturer in Indigenous Health
About the opportunity
This role will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of First Nations curriculum across the Faculty of Medicine and Health. Working within a collaborative team, the position supports curriculum transformation, culturally safe education practices, and improved health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- contribute to the design, development, and delivery of First Nations curriculum across medicine and health programs
- undertake teaching and curriculum-related academic work supporting the Indigenisation of health curriculum
- collaborate with academic, professional, First Nations and community stakeholders to implement faculty-wide curriculum initiatives
- support the development of culturally safe, strengths-based, and responsive learning experiences and assessment practices
- contribute to capability-building activities, including workshops, resources and staff development in cultural safety and decolonising pedagogies
- assist with coordination, evaluation and continuous improvement of First Nations curriculum activities and scholarly outputs.
About you
- demonstrated experience in teaching and/or curriculum development within health or higher education
- knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, cultural safety and strengths-based approaches to healthcare
- experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including First Nations communities and organisations
- emerging or demonstrated contribution to research, scholarship or evaluation in education or Indigenous health
- ability to contribute to culturally responsive curriculum design, assessment, and program-level initiatives
- commitment to advancing Indigenous strategy, health equity, and culturally safe education practices
