Lecturer in Marine Geospatial Science
About the role
We are seeking candidates with expertise in geodesy, geomatics, and the application of geospatial technologies to the coastal and marine environment. Experience in integrating AI into geospatial workflows is highly desirable.
For this position we especially value candidates with established industry collaborations or partnerships.

This role forms part of the newly created Centre for Coastal and Ocean Processes and Engineering (C-COPE).
You will:
- Deliver teaching in the theory, acquisition and analysis of marine geospatial data, and across all aspects of physical oceanography.
- Have a doctoral degree in a relevant field, supported by experience at postdoctoral or equivalent level
- Have an excellent research track record demonstrated through high calibre outputs of a quality likely to contribute to our future UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission
- Have clear evidence of successful grant applications as a PI is desirable
You will be based at the University of Plymouth city centre campus. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs.
