Join a growing and research-active team delivering high-quality teaching and impactful research in Software Engineering and Computer Science. Based at our modern Tauranga campus, you will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise Honours, Masters and PhD students, and develop an active research programme aligned with the School’s strengths.
This is an exciting opportunity for an early to mid-career academic to build strong industry connections, contribute to outreach and community engagement, and collaborate across our Tauranga and Hamilton campuses.
Salary will be in the range of $92,603 to $110,407 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based at our Tauranga campus.

Ko wai koe? – Who are you?
You will hold a PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related discipline and demonstrate success in tertiary teaching and research.
You will bring:
- Experience teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
- A developing or established research profile with publications
- Expertise in Software Engineering and Human-Centred Computing or related areas (such as Human-Robot Interaction, IoT, wearable technologies or extended reality)
- A commitment to innovative teaching practices, including online and blended delivery
- The ability to build collaborative partnerships with industry and research stakeholders
You will also demonstrate a commitment to collegiality, diversity, and the University’s partnership with Māori under the Treaty of Waitangi.
