Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

We are seeking a suitably qualified person to provide quality teaching in postgraduate tutorials and laboratories, support the teaching of classes, and undertake paper administration. You will be able to teach across several of the following areas: mark papers in Computer Science/Software Engineering, and advanced papers in Human Computing Interaction, Cyber Security, and Artificial Intelligence. You would be part of an expert team and involved in all aspects of teaching and support for predominantly postgraduate students. 

You will be responsible for implementing assessment of degree credit work under the supervision of the paper coordinator/convenor and you will mentor and supervise other sessional assistants and laboratory instructors.

The focus of the Tutor role is to assist academic staff in teaching and administration. The Tutor is not primarily responsible for any papers.

This is a teaching focussed position. You are not required to undertake research or complete higher degrees as part of this role, and as such are not eligible to apply for research funding. Supervision of postgraduate students is not required.

Salary will be in the range of $54,098 - $78,871 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus. For more information on the role please see the position description. Au Reikura – The School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Waikato comprises four discipline groups. The Software Engineering group has research strengths in areas such as human-centred computing, internet of things, and software correctness. Software Engineering is closely aligned with the Computer Science programme where we have a strong presence in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security.
