Minimum Qualifications
A Master's Degree in Economics or a closely related discipline is required.

Relevant teaching experience at the university level.

The Department of Economics is an intellectually vibrant community that values excellence in both research and teaching, and has well-established strengths in environmental, resource, experimental and behavioral economics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Department of Economics at Appalachian State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month faculty position for the 2026-27 academic year (with expectation of renewal). The successful candidate will support teaching in one or more of the following areas: Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, and Business Statistics. Teaching responsibilities may include courses offered at the Boone and Hickory campuses, as well as online. In addition to teaching, the faculty member will contribute to service activities at the department, college, and university levels.

Suggested Salary Range: Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
