Position description
The Department of Neuroscience (NEU) at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of non-tenure track Lecturer positions to teach NEU courses as needed. Typically, lecturers will be hired to teach or co-teach a single course in a given semester or summer session.
Teaching Responsibilities
We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach/co-teach small, medium and large size lectures, seminar and/or laboratory courses in the subject areas listed below:
- Broad survey courses in neuroscience
- Molecular, cellular and developmental neuroscience
- Circuit, systems, and behavioral neuroscience
- Cognitive neuroscience
- Computational neuroscience
- Neurotechnology
- Laboratory courses in the above areas
- Scientific communication and writing
General Duties
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), maintaining a course website, and using a learning management system (e.g. bCourses at UC Berkeley, Canvas, etc.).
