Job Summary

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences seeks dynamic candidate for a faculty position in the Exercise Science and Health Promotion tracks of the Health Sciences program. This is an academic year (10-month contract) non tenure-track appointment. The contract is expected to begin August 1, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 15 credit hours (includes lectures and labs) per semester in the Exercise Science and Health Promotion tracks of the Health Science program, with some online instruction required
  • Develop and update curriculum, course content, and lab manuals
  • Maintain campus office hours, prepare lesson plans, course syllabi, lectures, other course materials such as quizzes and exams, submit grades and attendance reports, and maintain a commitment to high impact practices
  • Supervise health science students in laboratory and internship settings
  • Maintain lab environment including equipment updates, purchases, and repair
  • Participate in assessment activities
  • Conduct academic advisement and career counseling
  • Travel to site locations
  • A commitment to high impact practices.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Master of Science in Exercise Science, or related field

Other Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a current valid drivers license with acceptable driving record and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report review

Required Experience

  • In-person classroom/lab instruction or clinical practice experience working in the field of physiology, rehab, exercise science or closely related field, preferably in the last 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • Related health and wellness certifications including but not limited to: EP-C, CHES, ACSM-EP, or equivalents

Preferred Educational Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Exercise Science or related field (or be ABD)
