Work content and job description
As a member of the Department of Environmental Planning at the Institute of Natural and Environmental Sciences, University of Hyogo, you will conduct research in regional planning focused on urban, suburban residential, and rural areas. Also, your role will encompass educational activities at the undergraduate and graduate course of the university. Please note that if you are hired as an assistant professor, you will be expected to engage in graduate-level teaching after being promoted to lecturer.
You will also hold a concurrent position as a researcher at the Museum of Nature and Human Activities, Hyogo. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing the collection and management of specimens and related materials. Additionally, you will play a key role in holding exhibitions and in providing support for lifelong learning and school education initiatives. Furthermore, you will be involved in think tank activities, which include offering advice and collaborating on regional planning efforts undertaken by government entities, citizen groups, private companies, and others.

Contract period description: Term of office: Five years
The President has the authority to approve reappointment upon a request submitted by the Rector. Nevertheless, reappointment can be considered on one occasion in principle. In the case of a lecturer, they have the possibility of transitioning the appointment into a permanent position at the end of the term of office, as long as the applicant meets the specified criteria, which notably include exceptional educational and research achievements, among other factors. The maximum retirement age is set at 65 years old.
