About the role

Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Psychology to join a team of highly driven psychology academics working in the School of Psychology, which is part of the Faculty of Health and Education.

The role places a strong emphasis on translating theory into real‑world application, supporting students to develop the critical, ethical, and practical skills required for contemporary psychological work.

The Lecturer on the Education, Practice and Citizenship (EPC) career pathway will play a central role in delivering outstanding, practice‑informed teaching across the School. The postholder will contribute to high‑quality education in key applied areas including:

  • Counselling and Psychotherapy,
  • Forensic Psychology,
  • AI and Psychology,
  • Neuropsychology (including neuroimaging and coding skills)
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

The postholder will contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, and pedagogic innovation, ensuring programmes remain relevant, evidence‑based, and responsive to the needs of diverse learners.

In line with the Education Practice and Citizenship (EPC) career pathway, the Lecturer will also engage in citizenship activities that strengthen the School's educational culture. Overall, the role is focused on impactful teaching, student support, and enhancing the School's reputation for excellence in applied psychological education.
