This new part-time (0.8 FTE) post is available from 18 September on a fixed term basis until 31 July 2028. We welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours or job-sharing arrangements.
We are pleased to be offering the opportunity for a Lecturer (Research Tutor) to join us on the NHS-funded Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences in the Professional Doctorates in Psychology (DCPGR) and Clinical Associate in psychology: Degree Apprenticeship (MCAPS) Portfolio. The postholder(s) will work with a skilled and supportive research team to support the Research Director with the delivery of the research training on the DClinPsy programme.
About the role
The role involves supporting and designing the delivery of research teaching and training, across qualitative or quantitative methods, depending on your methodological specialty. The role will entail collaborating with other Research Team members and colleagues external to the University, in order to ensure a high-quality, clinically relevant research training. The postholder(s) will be expected to participate in the full range of research-support activities provided on the programme. This includes providing teaching sessions and one-to-one supervision of DClinPsy Trainees in producing both small-scale Quality Improvement Studies, Systematic Literature Reviews and Empirical studies that comprise their PGR Doctoral thesis.
About you
The successful applicant(s) will possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology or related clinical area of Psychology. Applicants with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and HCPC registration would be welcomed. It is desirable that the successful candidate(s) have experience of teaching in an HE environment; be able to use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students; have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching; and be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
