We are looking for a mass spectrometrist and/or analytical chemist who is self-motivated, highly organised and works as part of a team. The project involves the development of HDX-MS strategies to study the structure and dynamics of bacterial secretesome. In particular, the project will develop the hydrogen deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS) technology to interrogate the conformational dynamics of multi-proteins complexes involved in bacterial translocation and within their native environment.
Essential skills and duties include:
- Hands on experience on HDX-MS of membrane proteins
- Experience in working with robotic systems for HDX workflows
- Excellent technical skills in sample preparation and HDX-MS data analysis
- Extensive and up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge in working with membrane proteins
- Extensive experience in working with membrane proteins and developing related methods
- Working with other laboratory members to develop methods and contribute in maintaining equipment
- Writing high-quality research papers
