Lecturer, Part-Time
The University of Texas at San Antonio School of Architecture + Planning invites applications for a part-time Lecturer position to teach Undergrad Design Studios and/ or Theory based seminars for Spring 2026.

Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design
Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design at UT San Antonio is home to more than 4,400 students and over 175 faculty members. As one of the largest and fastest growing colleges on campus, academic degrees offered include 9 undergraduate majors, 15 master's degrees, 6 doctoral degrees, and 8 certificate programs. The college serves as a leading hub for engineering and designed environment education and research in San Antonio. Students gain hands-on experience through internships, project-based learning, experiential learning, study abroad programs, and community partnerships. The School of Architecture + Planning
The School of Architecture + Planning is a laboratory for design and interdisciplinary research. In addition to degrees in Architecture (BS and MArch), Interior Design (BS) and Urban & Regional Planning (MS), we offer graduate certificate programs in Historic Preservation (CERT), High-Performance Design & Sustainability (CERT), Urban & Regional Planning (CERT) and an undergraduate certificate in Design Communication and Fabrication (CERT). Faculty-run centers and labs offer opportunities for students to participate in design research and community engagement.
Our faculty offer a place-based educational model that engages students to solve contemporary design challenges in creative dialogue with the layered histories of the built and natural environment of San Antonio, the greater Texas region, and beyond. We believe that, while transforming the built environment, architects, interior designers, and planning professionals should embrace preservation, conservation, and adaptive reuse as a means of reenergizing our cities. UT San Antonio is leading by example by expanding its Southwest campus in downtown San Antonio. Application Information
The successful candidate will teach either undergrad design studios (6 credit hours) or lead theory-based seminars (3 credit hours) for undergrad and graduate students that aligns with current curricular directions and the chosen faculty expertise. This position will be provided mentorship and onboarding support, and potentially an on-site office based on availability.
Required Qualifications
- M.Arch.
- 10 years of professional experience is strongly preferred.
- Evidence of integrating technology into instruction, online teaching, or using other emerging technologies.
- The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to educational needs of the University's students.
- Expertise in the profession of architecture, teaching design studios and collaborative, impactful research will be considered.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
