Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography

This is an exciting opportunity for a HCPC-registered diagnostic radiographer to join the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise. We are seeking to appoint an innovative and experienced diagnostic radiographer as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer within the School of Human and Health Sciences to Course Lead the Diagnostic Radiography Degree Apprenticeship and contribute to module leadership of the apprenticeship and undergraduate provision.

You will bring subject expertise in diagnostic radiography and work with the wider multiprofessional team, including those from partner NHS organisations, to contribute to the continued development of a new diagnostic radiography course.

The Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise is situated in the School of Human and Health Sciences. The Department currently offers a wide range of excellent educational provision across six allied health professions.

The University of Huddersfield has a diverse student body and professional partnerships with health and social care and education partners. Huddersfield is a lively town, close to beautiful countryside and with excellent road and rail links to Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield. In 2023, the University achieved TEF Gold award, and its apprenticeship provision was graded as “Outstanding” by Ofsted.

Commitment to an innovative student-centred learning experience is essential. You will have experience of working in higher education and broad knowledge of contemporary radiographic clinical and research issues. You will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a diagnostic radiographer and have recent post-registration diagnostic radiography clinical experience in the UK and experience of teaching and assessing undergraduate students. You will have a Masters Degree (or equivalent) and the ability to register for doctoral study within 12 months of appointment. Please note, candidates who are professionally qualified and ready to undertake Masters credit in their first year of employment (e.g. PG Cert HPE), to then move directly on to Doctoral study without needing to complete a full Masters Degree will also be considered.

This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Regular status checks may also be required, depending on your role.
