"Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Sport Analytics"

We are seeking an experienced academic to contribute to the design, delivery and research within the postgraduate and undergraduate programs in Sport and Exercise Science.

About the position

The Lecturer role requires the development, coordination and teaching of a high-quality learning experience in the Master of Sport Analytics and Sport and Exercise Science degree programs that engages students through the conduct of various class types. This includes conducting high impact research as a member of a team or independently and produce conference/seminar papers and publications from that research.

The Senior Lecturer position furthers these responsibilities, by providing leadership and mentoring to others in subject or course level curriculum design and the development and delivery of teaching. The entails supervising Higher Degree by Research (HDR), Honours and Masters by coursework students.

Skills and Experience

Applicants are expected to demonstrate breadth of expertise and experience in one or more of the following:

• Sport Analytics and/or Performance Analysis, including video and match analysis, athlete tracking (GPS/LPS), athlete monitoring systems, and data integration to support decision-making.
• Applied statistics and/or data science, with demonstrated experience in sport-related problems or datasets.

To be considered for this position, you will have

• PhD appropriate for the advertised role.
• Ability to teach and lead programs in areas related to sport analytics, sport data capture, performance analysis, data science, applied statistics. Proficiency in R and/or Python.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in curriculum development and teaching with a commitment to excellence in teaching.

In addition to the above:

As a Lecturer, you will demonstrate a strong history of producing and sharing high-quality, impactful research, successfully supervising or co-supervising research students, and recognised for expertise and leadership as a practitioner at multiple levels, from local to international.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will have an outstanding track record in conducting and sharing impactful research, successfully supervising students, and designing research projects. You are recognised as an expert practitioner at state, national and international levels. Your experience also includes preparing research proposals and securing funding, as well as providing leadership in academic and research settings.
