Job Summary
The Department of Biology at The University of Texas in Tyler is seeking a 9-month, non-tenure-track Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Instruction. The candidate would teach nonmajors courses in Microbiology and coordinate the non-majors Microbiology labs for the Department. The candidate is expected to have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and mentoring. Participation in departmental, college, and university committees and advising is expected. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated record of teaching excellence.

- Maintain regular on-campus presence.
- Attend departmental meetings.
Required Qualifications
- M.S. or PhD in Biology is required.
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is highly desirable.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
