The Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology is seeking applications for a 100% LEO Lecturer I position for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 teaching BIOLOGY 225, Human and Animal Physiology, and BIOLOGY 226, Human and Animal Physiology Laboratory. Responsibilities for BIOLOGY 225 will include creating and delivering lectures, creating and grading student assignments, and managing student accommodations. Responsibilities for BIOLOGY 226 will include training GSIs on lab exercises, coordinating with lab prep staff, creating all student assignments, managing student accommodations, and supervising GSI grading.

Terms and conditions of employment for this position as posted are subject to the provisions of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the University of Michigan and the Lecturers Employee Organization.

Applicants must be knowledgeable in the topics covered in the courses BIOLOGY 225, Human and Animal Physiology, and BIOLOGY 226, Human and Animal Physiology Laboratory at the University of Michigan. A Master's degree in Biology or a closely related field and experience teaching undergraduate biology are required.

Ph.D. in Biology preferred with at least 3 years of undergraduate biology teaching experience. Qualified candidates should be fluent in the area of expertise and exhibit evidence of excellent teaching skills.

The appointment opportunity has been approved by the academic unit, Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
