Job Details
STATUS/HOURS: 1 year position, part-time (12 hours per week) academic year schedule including one week prior to the beginning of school. There is a shared responsibility among all counselors to provide on-call coverage (Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends) and rotational coverage. Schedule may vary according to departmental and Academy needs.
COMPENSATION: $55.80-$57.00 per hour. Compensation is based on relevant education and experience and will be set within the listed range.
Position Purpose
Responsible for providing psychotherapy, crisis intervention, consultation, and mental health outreach and educational services to enhance the psychological and emotional welfare of PEA students.
Job Responsibilities
Clinical/Counseling
- Assess self-referred and school-referred students using evidence-based diagnostic techniques.
- Provide short-term and long-term individual psychotherapy to students, using evidence-based best practices
- Provide culturally affirming psychotherapy to students, including students from historically marginalized groups.
- Share on-call responsibilities with other CAPS team members.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention for students as necessary.
- Consult with and provide support to parents and other student caregivers, faculty, staff, deans, and Health Services staff regarding individual students.
- Refer students to specialized care as necessary and appropriate.
Administrative
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with the Academy’s data collection, record-keeping, and legal reporting obligations/requirements.
Educational / Professional
- Provide consultation regarding adolescent development and mental health for a variety of Academy constituents.
- Provide outreach education and customized workshops to students on select topics in adolescent mental health and wellness.
- Maintain professional licensure in the State of New Hampshire.
