The Brophy Lab in the Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University is seeking a Life Science Research Professional to join our team exploring genetic engineering projects related to plant environmental stress tolerance. You will perform and support complex lab experiments, focusing on Sorghum engineering and associated molecular biology techniques.
In this role, you will:
- Plan approach to experiments in support of research projects.
- Independently conduct experiments; maintain detailed records.
- Apply theories and methods to interpret and perform analyses of experiment results.
- Review literature and contribute to publication of findings.
- Help with general lab maintenance.
Education & Experience (Required): Bachelor's degree in related scientific field.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required): General understanding of scientific principles, ability to maintain detailed records, general computer skills, excellent organizational skills.
Education & Experience (Desired): Two years full time wet lab experience, ability to design and build DNA, understanding of sterile technique.
Working Conditions: May require working with hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment, extended work hours.
Physical Requirements: Frequently stand, walk, lift objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Pay Range: The expected pay range for this position is $32.58 - $38.48 per hour.
