"Lifeguard"

Job Description

You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of people using the University's Aquatics facilities, including maintaining constant surveillance of the pool, aiding in emergencies with first aid and CPR, leading and teaching other lifeguards, assisting with maintenance, and acting as a shift supervisor. You will work nights and weekends and adjust for special events like swimming and diving championships.

Working Conditions

• Must be willing to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Must adjust schedule for special Aquatics events.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

• Lifeguard experience is desirable.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and online scheduling systems via smartphone.
