LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university

Salary from £43,277 to £51,714 per annum inclusive of London allowance

This is a career development position and is fixed term for two years

An LSE Fellowship is intended to be an entry route to an academic career and is deemed by the School to be a career development position.  As such, applicants who have already been employed as an LSE Fellow for three years in total are not eligible to apply. If you have any queries about this, please contact the HR Division.

The Law School is seeking to appoint up to two fixed-term LSE Fellows. The fellowship is not restricted to any particular area of legal study.

The objective of the Fellowship is to provide a development opportunity for those who have exceptional potential in legal research and scholarship. During the two-year appointment, LSE Fellows will have the opportunity to develop their teaching experience, as well as their research trajectory. Fellows are expected to contribute to class teaching on the undergraduate degree programme and other teaching on the undergraduate or postgraduate programme as may be available.  While our class teaching needs can arise in all core areas of the undergraduate curriculum, we particularly welcome applicants who are happy to teach in the areas of Family and/or Medical Law or Company Law.

Candidates should have a PhD in Law, or should have submitted, by the post start date (September 2026). In addition, you will have research expertise in an area of law with potential to develop a body of high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals and potential to develop a national/international reputation for research in the area of your expertise.  Relevant teaching experience would be an advantage.  You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills and a capacity to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment for students.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.

For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.

If you have any technical queries with applying on the online system, please use the “contact us” links at the bottom of the LSE Jobs page.

Should you have any queries about the role, please email law.school.manager@lse.ac.uk

The closing date for receipt of applications is Sunday 26 April 2026 (23.59 UK time).

Regrettably, we are unable to accept any late applications.
