Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
Supporting one or more Community Network hospital for UCI Health, the Physician Advisor is a physician duly licensed to practice medicine in the State of California ('State') responsible for reviewing medical records specified by Hospital and communicating with members of Hospital's medical staff, managed care organizations and other third parties at Hospital's request with respect to the appropriate utilization of Hospital resources and related matters.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Minimum 3 years of clinical practice, preferably in Emergency Medicine
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Board certification/eligibility in direct patient care specialty (Internal Medicine, hospitalist, Emergency Medicine, medical subspecialties, surgical specialties, etc.)
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership experience in an academic medical center environment
- Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
