We are looking to appoint a Programme Manager to work as part of the Mental Health Mission in the Mental Health Research for innovation Centre (M-RIC) aligned to the NIHR Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration and which sits within a ground-breaking new university Centre; Civic Health Innovation Labs (CHIL)

M-RIC is an ambitious programme of work jointly delivered between University of Liverpool and Mersey care NHS Foundation Trust (MCFT). It has wide reaching benefits to the region whilst raising the profile of all partners as leaders in Mental Health Innovation.

We are seeking a Programme Manger to manage a portfolio of projects across several themes and work streams in mental health innovation.

You will:

• Lead on the business cycles of M-RIC’s performance; reporting to NIHR and the Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration (MH-TRC) on a monthly and quarterly basis on M-RIC’s performance against key performance indicators and financial position.
• Support the development of contract management and planning (including those with external industry partners).
• Work collaboratively with other members of the M-RIC leadership team to support their objectives and monitoring of progress.
• Contribute to and manage plans for future funding sources and sustainability of M-RIC.
• Report to the CHIL Head of Research Programmes and work closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders across CHIL, the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, NIHR, MH-TRC, MCFT, and Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System to support innovation across key thematic areas
• Act as a key member of the operational delivery team, lead with transparency and integrity, supporting inclusion and diversity in all aspects of M-RIC, its work and its wide-reaching impacts

Person

The ideal candidate will:

• Be highly organised and structured with the ability to create solutions to complex problems.
• Have a thorough understanding of research set-up and delivery within an HEI or NHS environment.
• Have a thorough understanding of financial management and reporting of large-scale multi-institutional research programmes.
• Be committed to the concept of research ‘co-production’ Importantly, this is characterised by ‘side-by-side working’ with service user and carer representatives who bring their lived experience to M-RIC’s research design.
• Work collaboratively, collegiately, and inclusively to build systems that work across boundaries.
• Understand the need for openness and transparency in the field of health innovation.
• Be driven by the desire to improve health outcomes.
• Understand the need for a Team Science approach to impactful delivery.
