Job Description Summary
Assists in maintaining University facilities by performing basic mechanical and craft repairs
Essential Duties
- Performs basic carpentry tasks including replacing windows, hanging and fixing doors, repairing tile floors and ceiling, and hanging shelves, etc.
- Performs basic plumbing tasks including fixing leaks, replacing sinks, commodes and faucets, etc.
- May perform basic electrical tasks including replacing switches, outlets, dimmer, clocks, and light fixtures, etc.
- May perform basic mechanical tasks and preventive maintenance on electric motors and small appliances.
- May perform basic maintenance on AC/heating system including replacing belts and filters.
- May perform basic custodial tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- May require a valid driver's license and the ability to be a qualified driver under the Universities MVR policy.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED, six months experience in any mechanical/trade field, and completion of MRW or BRW training. An equivalent combination can be substituted for education and experience requirements.
